US Pipe is seeking a strategic, results-driven Business Controller to partner with our Sales and Operations leadership teams to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing locations.
This is a highly visible role that combines financial leadership with operational partnership. You'll work directly with plant leadership to analyze business performance, identify opportunities, improve profitability, and support key business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Regional Operations, Sales leadership, and Plant Managers to improve financial and operational performance.
- Analyze monthly financial results, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve profitability.
- Lead monthly financial reviews with operations leadership, focusing on sales mix, labor, material costs, transportation, and margins.
- Monitor month-end close activities, inventory accuracy, accruals, billing, intercompany transactions, and financial controls.
- Visit manufacturing facilities to conduct financial reviews, inventory audits, and provide guidance to plant leadership.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, quarterly business reviews, and year-end inventory processes.
- Perform financial analysis for capital investments, customer and product profitability, and strategic business initiatives.
- Develop actionable insights from large data sets to identify cost savings and operational improvements.
- Provide financial training and guidance to Plant Managers and operational leaders.
- Collaborate with leadership on special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is a plus
- Experience as a Finance Manager, Accounting Manager, Controller, or similar financial leadership role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Manufacturing, construction, or homebuilding industry experience is preferred but not required..
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and translate financial information into actionable business recommendations.
- Willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities as needed.
