Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improvements based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards in production, handling, storage, and sanitation practices to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and presentation.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service efficiently during busy hours.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and stored following safety standards in production.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant kitchen roles with a strong understanding of food industry best practices.
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs.
- Skilled in food handling techniques that prioritize safety and hygiene at all times.
- Familiarity with menu planning processes to help innovate or improve existing offerings.
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients.
