Job Description – Shift Manager Position Summary
The Shift Manager is the acting restaurant manager while on duty. They are responsible for leading the FOH and BOH teams, managing the flow of the shift, maintaining Cafe Landwer standards, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
The Shift Manager is a leader, communicator, and proactive problem-solver who sets the tone for the entire team.
ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience
- Ensure outstanding hospitality from start to finish.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and service.
- Address guest concerns quickly and professionally.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and welcoming environment.
Team Leadership
- Ensure team members are in the right positions and focused on the highest-priority tasks.
- Support, coach, and hold FOH and BOH employees accountable.
- Lead by example and support training of new team members.
- Communicate clearly during briefings, breaks, busy periods, and large reservations.
Shift Operations
- Own the flow of the restaurant from opening through closing.
- Complete opening/closing duties, cash handling, and shift reports.
- Plan and oversee catering orders, including prep, packing, and staffing needs.
- Monitor inventory and ensure stations are stocked.
- Communicate 86'd items, special deliveries, and important updates to the team.
- Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized, and ready for the next shift.
- Report maintenance issues and technician visits through the team communication channel.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for hospitality and developing people.
- Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
