Medicaid Specialist
Job Type: Full Time
Locations: Tri-Cities and Thumb Area
Basic Job Duties:
Works collaboratively with the team to complete Initial Asset Assessments and Medicaid applications for MI Choice Waiver Program applicants and/or participants. Assists applicants, family members, Waiver staff, and MARA workers in securing Medicaid enrollment. Reviews Medicaid eligibility, applications, and verification documents for completeness and accuracy. Submits Medicaid applications and supporting documentation to MDHHS in a timely manner. Accurately enters relevant data and demographics into appropriate systems to ensure proper tracking and information distribution. Reports to Program Director, Deputy Director, and/or designee.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or higher required
- Knowledge of office procedures and effective communication skills
- Experience with the Michigan Medicaid application process preferred
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, Excel, and related technology required
- Knowledge of State of Michigan regulations preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a health-related field or assisting individuals in securing financial assistance through private or government programs
- Documented experience in home care or community health preferred

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Flexible 9/80 work schedule available after successful completion of 90-day probationary period
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Office experience: 1 year (Required)
- Computer, Microsoft Office, Excel, and related-technology: 1 year (Required)
- Home care: 1 year (Preferred)
- Community Health: 1 year (Preferred)
