Under the supervision of the Butler Medical Transport Leadership team, the Paramedic plays a critical role within the Butler team, delivering high-quality medical care during both emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports. This role involves patient assessment, advanced life support administration, and safe, timely transport to medical facilities for further treatment.
As a Paramedic, you will be a vital link in the healthcare continuum, providing essential care that directly impacts patient outcomes. This role requires a blend of technical skill, quick decision-making, and strong interpersonal abilities. Our Paramedics demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities and dedication to the field through advanced training and education. Working as part of a collaborative EMS team, you will ensure that all patients receive compassionate, efficient pre- and post-hospital care, upholding the highest standards of service in every transport.
Role and Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, advanced life support care during interfacility transports in compliance with Butler Medical Transport, State, and DOH protocols.

Provide leadership and mentorship to EMT crew members.

Communicate effectively with patients, dispatch, family members, and facility staff.

Operate communication devices, cell phones, and computer tablets.
-
Complete accurate patient care reports prior to shift completion.

Ensure vehicle and equipment readiness and cleanliness.
-
Maintain current certifications with timely completion of refresher courses and CMEs.

Provide excellent patient care within the scope of practice of a Paramedic

Respond to emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports

Provides effective communication with patients, dispatch, crews, family members, and facility staff

Ability operation communication devices; cell phone, computer tablet

Completion of patient contact reports prior to shift completion

Ensure readiness of vehicles and equipment for transport

Maintain cleanliness of station

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Graduation From High School or equivalent
-
Must be at least 19 years old or older at time of hire for insurance purposes

Successful completion of NR Paramedic certification

Current NR Paramedic and State Paramedic (or ability to obtain with in 10 days of hire)

Current AHA BLS CPR, ACLS, PALS or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire
-
Ability to provide quality patient care within scope of practice

Knowledge of all state protocols for a Paramedic

Valid Photo ID

Ability to pass a lift test of 150 – 200 pounds

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test

Ability to pass a pre-employment background check

Ability to speak and write English
PREFERRED SKILLS

Knowledge of pumps, vents, and monitors utilized in EMS care
