Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for pediatric patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and urgent care centers.
- Diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses, acute injuries, and chronic conditions with evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe medications, including antibiotics, vaccines, and other treatments, adhering to all regulatory guidelines such as DEA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists (such as gastroenterologists or infectious disease experts), and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks; document clinical findings accurately and efficiently.
- Provide patient education on topics such as nutrition, developmental milestones, immunizations, and disease prevention strategies.
- Participate in clinical research projects or quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing pediatric care standards.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with current state licensure.
- Proven experience working with children in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, or assisted living environments.
- Strong proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with medical documentation standards.
- Knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and common childhood illnesses; ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations confidently.
- Experience with procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, spinal taps, and venipuncture.
- Ability to manage acute care situations including triage in urgent care or emergency room settings; familiarity with airway management and ventilator support is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for patient assessment and family education; commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Additional skills preferred include telehealth experience, behavioral health management for children, pain management techniques, and familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes.
