JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Roof Technician Role is responsible for supporting & completing installation, service, and maintenance on various residential systems including solar panel installations.
Must have experience with home construction techniques, power tools, and real-world experience with working on a roof.
This role transitions you into growing a career as a Solar Installer, so there is a lot of growth taking people with roofing/siding experience to a very strong skillset!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be comfortable working on roofs, fall protection provided.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical installations, solar equipment systems, battery storage systems and more.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical faults of solar equipment systems, battery storage systems and more.
- Use appropriate hand and power tools to perform a variety of functions.
- Lay-out, assemble and install solar modules, panels, or support structures as specified.
- Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Approach every opportunity with a learning mindset.
- Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of residential home wiring techniques, general construction, and roofing practices.
- Paid on the job training. Includes, heat spring courses, virtual training courses provided by the manufacturer of products we install, or training sessions with the owner.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of residential home wiring techniques and general theory.
- Working knowledge of residential home construction, framing, roofing, or other techniques.
- Working knowledge of reading blueprint wiring diagrams and performing site layout calculations.
- Ability to follow and communicate instructions and directions both verbally and written. Capable of working independently or in a group setting
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required.
- Have a minimum of 12 months of construction experience
- Have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- OSHA 10 card
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Required to stand, walk, sit, and drive company vehicles.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work in Cheektowaga, NY
- Have electrician hand tools, tools belt, toolbox, battery power drill, battery power impact drill
- Comfortable working on roofs
- Comfortable working on a ladder
- Comfortable working from heights in a man lift
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment
WORK LOCATION:
- Western, Central, and Southern, New York State
- Shop location is 73 Euclid ave. Buffalo, NY 14211
- Expected to work out of town at times for projects over 1hr away.
- Will receive Per-Diam for food and beverage
- Will received Paid Hotel room for yourself
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
