Nuestra Casa Adult Day Health Center is looking for kitchen staff. Come join our team!
This position is part time- Wednesday, Friday and Saturday or
Full-Time Saturdays included with mixed work on the care floor
Responsibilities:
- Handle and prepare food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
- Prepare nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets.
- Meet required meal schedules.
- Take accurate measures to avoid food waste, including participating in production meetings with supervisor(s) and use of production sheets.
- Properly care for dietary equipment.
- Follow menus and special diet instructions.
- Takes food temperatures per policy and insure food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to corporate, local, state and federal guidelines. Follow cleaning schedules, and daily deep cleaning task.
- Communicate freely with supervisor(s).
- Performs other duties as requested.
- May be required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends.
- Must practice good personal hygiene and follow dress code requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in institutional food handling is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English and Spanish.
- Able to solve operational problems in absence of Dietary Manager and Assistant Dietary Manager.
