Special Education Teachers support students with diverse learning needs by implementing individualized instruction and ensuring access to the general curriculum. This role plays a critical part in promoting academic growth, independence, and inclusion within the school community.
Position Details:
Start Date: August 10, 2026
End Date: May 21, 2027
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Location: In Person, Full-time hours
School Year: 2026/2027
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student assessments and needs
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with state standards and student goals
- Modify curriculum, assignments, and assessments to accommodate diverse learners
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and maintain compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
- Implement behavior management strategies and intervention plans as needed
- Foster an inclusive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid Colorado Special Education Teaching Certification
- Knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and compliance requirements
- Experience working with students with a range of learning and behavioral needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet student needs
