INTRODUCTION TO ROLE
The Waterpark Maintenance Technician performs a range of duties, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining property and equipment. Maintenance Technicians ensure daily operational requirements are met to maintain optimal efficiency and exceed customer expectations.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Waterpark Maintenance Technician has a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems. Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods. Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

- Water chemistry testing and chemical balancing (chlorine/bromine, pH, alkalinity) and required logging frequency
- Pump, filter, and backwash system operation and maintenance
- Chemical handling/storage safety (chlorine gas, muriatic acid, PPE requirements)
- Slide, flume, wave pool, and lazy river mechanical inspections
- Compliance with state/local health department pool codes and the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC)
- VGB Act (Virginia Graeme Baker) compliance — drain cover/suction entrapment inspections
- Backflow prevention device checks (if applicable in your jurisdiction)
- Ensure the property is clean, orderly, well-manicured, and always guest-ready.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Provides regular and reliable attendance
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Waterpark Maintenance Technician reports to the Waterpark Manager and will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor.
WHAT YOU BRING
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age!
- Must be CPO Certified
- CPR / First Aid Certified (preferred)
- Ability to swim (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a maintenance role
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- A valid driver's license may be required (dependent on the property)
- Good physical condition and strength
WHAT IT TAKES (PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is active and requires all-day pool maintenance activities, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and swimming. The employee must frequently lift or move items weighing over fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to pool chemicals/fumes
- Working at heights (slide towers/platforms)
- Confined space work (pump/mechanical rooms)
- Wet, slippery surface conditions
- Outdoor sun/heat exposure for extended periods
- Noise exposure from mechanical equipment
