Job Summary
Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians with a wide range of medical procedures, provide exceptional animal handling and care, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring all veterinary protocols are followed with precision.
- Perform animal restraint using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff during treatments and examinations.
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately.
- Conduct laboratory work such as blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic radiology to support accurate diagnoses.
- Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, dental units, and other veterinary tools with proficiency.
- Maintain detailed patient records using veterinary software while ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Support pet owners through clear communication about pet care instructions, post-operative care, and treatment plans to foster trust and understanding.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary procedures.
- Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint techniques to promote calm interactions during treatments.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology; experience with radiology diagnostics is a plus.
- Knowledge of veterinary surgical assistance tasks including assisting with surgeries under sterile conditions.
- Competence in operating medical equipment safely while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners effectively about pet health needs.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks performed.
