Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and smooth kitchen flow during busy hours
- Follow proper food handling procedures, including storage, labeling, and temperature control to prevent contamination
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and dish presentation ideas
- Assist in catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring all food is prepared and served at the highest standard
Requirements
- Proven experience in a food service environment, preferably with fine dining or restaurant experience
- Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, food preparation, cooking methods, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling perishable ingredients
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
