We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Professional to join our team! Duties
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns with precision, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, to support tax planning strategies.
- Assist with estate planning initiatives by advising on wills, trusts, and estate law to optimize client wealth transfer strategies.
- Support mergers & acquisitions by performing due diligence, financial analysis, and integration of accounting records following GAAP standards.
- Reconcile accounts such as general ledger accounts, bank statements, and asset management records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for bookkeeping, financial report writing, and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams on SOX compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
- Provide insights into financial report interpretation and assist in budgeting processes for various departments or clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tax accounting combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and GAAP standards.
- Strong knowledge of estate planning, wills & trusts law, securities law, and non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar platforms; experience with financial software is essential.
- Demonstrated ability in auditing procedures, account reconciliation, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, accounts payable management, budgeting techniques, and asset management practices.
- Strong communication skills for preparing detailed financial reports and explaining technical accounting concepts clearly.
- Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), EA (Enrolled Agent), or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.
