The Saratoga Springs City Center Authority is accepting applications for the positions of Director of Sales.
The Sales Department of the Saratoga Springs City Center holds as its purpose The Mission of the Saratoga Springs City Center Authority:
“The Saratoga Springs City Center Authority is a body corporate and politic, constituting a public benefit corporation established to manage, sell, market and operate the Saratoga Springs City Center (convention facility) so as to create the greatest positive economic benefit to Saratoga Springs and the surrounding County.”
The Director of Sales works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director. The Director of Sales, supervises the Sales Managers as well as The Admin/ Customer Service desk.
The Director of Sales, must be able to work proficiently in a fast paced and hands on environment. While this is a director level position, the Director of Sales position requires active involvement in the sales, event planning and the community aspects of the Saratoga Springs City Center and its mission.
Typical Work Activities: (Illustrative Only)
· High level Event/ Conference Panning & Oversight
· High level relationship building and maintenance skills
· Active involvement at Discover Saratoga Meetings, and meetings of professional organizations That the City Center participates in (ESSAE, MPI Upstate NY & Others)
· Attend building/community events as needed – including weekly staff meeting
· High level of operational skills (Sales forecasting, planning, industry knowledge & trends)
· High level relationship building skills with DMOS, CVBS, & local Hotels and Industry partners
This job requires a high level of independent activity and thought while working in concert with other facility staff. There needs to be a clear understanding of the goals, perimeters and limitations of the City Center. There needs to be the ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment. This individual must be team-oriented with excellent organization, interpersonal and customer service skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
1. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Hospitality (or a closely related field) and five (5) years of full time paid experience promoting activities which shall have involved scheduling and working with the public; OR
2. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Hospitality (or a closely related field) and 6 years of full time paid experience promoting activities which shall have involved scheduling and working with the public;
3. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and seven years 7 years of full time paid experience in promoting activities which shall have involved scheduling and working with the public.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree, in above mentioned fields
· Have or be willing to obtain CMP or CEPS upon hire
· Proficiency in CRM software

This position has a flexible schedule, availability on nights and weekends is required.
The salary range for this position is:
$90,000 - $100,000 Annually
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
