This is primarily an execution/support role during a hospital system divestiture rather than a network architecture engagement. Engineers may spend portions of the shift on a bridge waiting for specific migration tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Participate on migration bridge calls
- Remotely access Extreme switches
- Identify the correct switch, interface, port and VLAN
- Move ports between VLANs
- Enable/disable switch ports
- Make configuration changes as directed
- Save configurations
- Verify connectivity following changes
- Troubleshoot network/connectivity issues
- Execute changes during maintenance windows
- Coordinate with the broader migration team
Required Experience
- Extreme Networks experience is mandatory. General Cisco/network engineering experience alone is not sufficient.
- Specific experience with BOSS and/or VOSS.
- Experience with ERS4850/4900 and VSP7200/8400 is highly desirable.
- Must be comfortable performing VLAN, port and interface changes remotely.
- Must be capable of troubleshooting during live migration/change windows.
- Must be comfortable spending significant time on a bridge awaiting instructions.
- Confirm availability to start July 31.
- Confirm willingness and ability to work the assigned overnight or weekend schedule.
- Confirm availability through September 1.
- Obtain hourly rate and ensure we can remain below the $150/hour C1 bill-rate ceiling.
Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
