Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Independent Contractor Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting passengers and goods across various local routes, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to all traffic and transportation regulations. Whether operating passenger vans, shuttle buses, or personal vehicles, you will play a vital role in delivering reliable transportation solutions with professionalism and care.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of passenger vehicles including vans, shuttles, limousines, and personal delivery vehicles on designated local routes.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and safety protocols during all driving activities.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with passengers, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a comfortable experience.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Manage client communication professionally, confirming schedules, pickups, and drop-offs with clarity and courtesy.
- Assist with heavy lifting when loading or unloading cargo or luggage while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation tools to optimize routes and ensure timely arrivals at destinations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or chauffeur driving various passenger or commercial vehicles.
- Familiarity with bus driving, shuttle driving, limousine services, or medical transportation is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Ability to operate passenger vans, passenger vehicles, heavy lifting equipment, and shuttle buses safely.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and coordination with dispatch teams.
- Knowledge of local driving routes, traffic patterns, and state transportation regulations.
- Experience in adhering to safety standards related to heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Ability to maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
