Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the full cycle of accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with financial regulations. Your expertise will help optimize cash flow, support financial integrity, and enhance customer relationships. Duties
- Post customer payments.
- Apply checks, ACH payments, credit card payments, and other receipts to the correct customer account.
- Review customer account balances.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging.
- Follow up on past-due balances
- Communicate with customers regarding unpaid invoices
- Research short pays, deductions, credits, and disputes.
- Issue or prepare credit memos when approved.
- Help make sure customer pricing is correct before invoicing.
- Maintain organized customer account records.
- Send statements to customers as needed.
- Assist with month-end closing items related to receivables.
- Communicate with Brokers regarding unapproved deductions and work to resolve.
- Help with Shopify or online customer order questions.
- Cross-train on basic Accounts Payable functions for backup.
Skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
- Experience with accounts payable alongside receivable functions is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is advantageous.
- Payroll experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
