Advanced Technology Solutions is looking for a Reliability Analyst / Reliability Engineer to join our team in Fairfax, Iowa.
ATS has office locations in Fairfax, IA and Kansas City, MO, and this opening is specifically for a position based out of our Fairfax office.
This is a hybrid field and office-based role that combines hands-on work at customer manufacturing facilities with dedicated office time for data analysis, technical reporting, planning, training and professional development.
You’ll spend part of your time in the field collecting and evaluating equipment data and part of your time at our Fairfax office analyzing findings, preparing reports and supporting upcoming service work.
Whether you bring experience in reliability engineering, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, industrial maintenance or a related technical field-or you have strong mechanical aptitude and are ready to expand your skills-we’d like to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
As a member of the ATS reliability team, you’ll work within customer manufacturing facilities and from our Fairfax office to support proactive maintenance and equipment reliability efforts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing on-site condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance services
- Collecting equipment data at customer manufacturing and industrial facilities
- Analyzing measurements and condition trends to identify developing mechanical or operational concerns
- Preparing clear, professional technical reports documenting findings
- Participating in on-site close-out meetings following scheduled service
- Supporting follow-up communication as needed after reports and findings are delivered
- Providing responsive, professional customer service
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customer accounts
- Managing field assignments and office-based responsibilities effectively
- Working independently while also collaborating closely with the ATS team
- Continuing to expand your technical knowledge through classroom, hands-on and industry-specific training
What You Need to Succeed
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, technically minded, curious and comfortable working in both office and industrial environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening
- Willingness to travel, including some weekday overnight travel
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, listening and customer-service skills
- Comfortable learning new technologies, processes and technical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to manage responsibilities independently
- Team-oriented and able to work effectively with coworkers and customers
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, processes and information
- Open-minded and willing to continue expanding your technical skill set
Experience That May Be a Great Fit

- Reliability engineering

- Rotating equipment
- Other related technical, engineering or industrial experience
Equivalent experience, technical aptitude and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
This role includes regular work inside manufacturing and industrial facilities. Candidates must be able to:
- Regularly lift up to 25 pounds
- Walk extensively throughout manufacturing facilities
- Navigate stairs, ladders and uneven surfaces
- Safely work around operating and rotating industrial equipment
- Perform fieldwork in a variety of industrial environments
