Join our dynamic team as a Tool Rental Associate, where you will be the key to delivering exceptional service and expertise to our customers. In this energetic role, you'll assist clients in selecting the right tools and equipment for their projects, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on rental items, and ensure that all tools are in optimal condition for use. Your mechanical aptitude and customer service skills will drive positive experiences, helping customers complete their projects efficiently and safely. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, assess their project needs, and recommend suitable tools and equipment.
- Operate and demonstrate the proper use of power tools, hand tools, and rental equipment to customers.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on rental tools including generators, small engines, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge to identify repairs or replacements needed.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking tool check-outs, returns, and ensuring all equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use.
- Handle manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide technical support for complex repairs involving electrical work, welding, soldering, or diesel engine repair as needed.
- Support sales efforts by informing customers about additional rental options or accessories that enhance their projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership environments or automotive repair shops is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, diesel engine repair, small engine maintenance, and generator repair.
- Ability to operate power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical or electrical repair tools confidently.
- Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment regularly throughout shifts.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance systems or power generation systems is advantageous.
- Basic sales skills to assist customers effectively while promoting rental products and services.

Pay: $24.75 - $29.80 per hour
