Position Summary
The Packer is responsible for accurately assembling, packaging, and preparing products for delivery. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality, presentation, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. As part of a small team, the Packer contributes to the overall success by helping create high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Compensation
Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Follow written and verbal instructions for product packaging and assembly.
Assemble gift boxes, amenity packages, and related products accurately and efficiently.
Receive, unload, and organize incoming shipments from vendors.
Operate packaging equipment, including Form Fill Seal and Shrink Wrap machines, to package products according to quality and presentation standards.
Assemble accessory items such as bows, tags, labels, and inserts.
Inspect products for quality and accuracy prior to packaging and preparation for delivery.
Maintain proper inventory rotation for dated and non-dated products.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Clean and sanitize equipment, work surfaces, and machine components daily.
Assist with inventory counts and stock organization as needed.
Collaborate with team members on product assembly, packaging improvements, and new product development.
Provide support to other departments and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing priorities.
Basic problem-solving skills and general mechanical aptitude preferred.
Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling needs.
Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Food Handler Safety Training Card preferred. Must obtain within 60 days of hire.
Ability to safely use ladders and warehouse equipment.
Ability to multitask and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to push, pull, and move products and materials throughout the facility.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
Ability to safely operate packaging and production equipment.
Work Environment Disclosure
This position is performed in a food production and packaging facility where employees regularly work around nuts, nut products, nut dust, food packaging materials, and production equipment. Employees may be exposed to airborne nut dust and other food-processing particulates during normal business operations.
Appropriate safety procedures, sanitation practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. Continuous exposure to nuts, nut products, nut dust, and food-processing materials is considered an essential aspect of the work environment for this position.
