Sales Associate / Barista
Wyrd Bookstore is looking for a personable, hard-working, and responsible person to join our team in Edgewater. More specifically, we need someone who is 1) personable and enjoys engaging with customers, 2) can work well on a team but is also comfortable solo, and 3) can handle multiple tasks at a time. Love of books and coffee is preferred.
Applicants must be available for at least 3 shifts during the following hours: 4 PM and 7:30 PM Monday through Friday, as well as Saturdays 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM and 2:30 - 7:30, and Sundays 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Please do not apply if these hours are not suitable for your schedule.
We plan to hire immediately and want someone to continue on with us beyond summer into fall or longer.
Responsibilities will be diverse, including but not limited to:
- preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other bakery offerings;
- opening the store and closing the store
- assisting customers and checking out customers
- taking book and cafe orders
- engaging with customers in a friendly and positive manner
- receviing book inventory and shelving books
- keeping cafe and store clean and tidy
