Part-Time / Full-Time Caregiver (No Overnights)
Local Client’s (Senior’s) Homes
Looking for work that actually matters—and occasionally feels like improv, problem-solving, and crisis management all in the same hour?
Good. Because that’s this job.
Let’s be clear upfront:
This is hard work. It is physical. It is emotional. It is often thankless. Some days you will leave feeling like you made a real difference. Some days you will leave tired, slightly confused, and wondering how that was all in one shift.
This is not for people looking for easy money.
This is for people who already have a stable life and want to use some of their time to do something that actually helps another human being.
What This Job Really Is
You walk into a stranger’s home and are expected to:
- Be respectful like a guest
- Be helpful like a professional
- And somehow know how they like things done without being told
Some clients will love you. Some will test you. Some will say they don’t need help while actively needing help.
You will be:
Part assistant, part safety-focused support, part “we’ve got this handled” energy.
The Reality You Won’t See in Other Ads
- You are legally limited in how much cleaning you can do—but clients will still expect more
- You are responsible for noticing problems before they become emergencies
- You will remind people about medications, safety, and daily routines
- You will help keep living spaces safe, clean, and livable
- You will sometimes be the only consistent human interaction someone has that day
Also:
- You cannot force help on someone who refuses it
- You must stay calm even when things get frustrating
- You are working in someone else’s home, on their terms
What You’ll Actually Do
- Help with meals, errands, and daily routines
- Provide companionship and conversation
- Monitor safety (falls, environment, general well-being)
- Follow care plans and document what’s going on
- Use equipment like gait belts when needed (and when clients allow it)
Non-Negotiables (Read This or Don’t Apply)
You must have:
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle you can use during shifts
- Active car insurance
- Valid ID (Social Security card, passport, or birth certificate)
You will be driving clients and running errands. No car = not a fit.
Who This Actually Works For
- People with a full-time job who want meaningful side work
- People who have taken care of others before (family counts)
- People who stay calm, don’t panic, and can figure things out
- People who understand that respect and patience matter more than being “right”
No certification required. This is non-medical care.
But not everyone can do it well.
The Pay (Keeping It Honest)
- $15/hour base
- Slightly more for higher-care cases or couples
This is not high-paying work. It never has been.
People do this because it matters—not because it’s easy.
What We Offer
- Paid background check (fingerprints included)
- Paid full-day orientation (at your normal rate)
- Client-specific training every time you start a new case
- Ongoing paid training (yes, you actually have to do it)
We are a small company on purpose. We are not trying to be huge. We are trying to do this well.
Final Thought
Most people won’t make it in this role.
But the ones who do?
They’re the reason some people get to stay in their homes, keep their routines, and hold onto their dignity a little longer.
If that sounds like something you want to be part of—apply.
If not, that’s completely fair.
