The Iola-Scandinavia School District is seeking a head cook for the Middle/High School cafeteria. Scheduled hours are approximately 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on days that school is in session.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Head Cook shall be responsible for food service-related business and personnel management. They shall make sure the district's food service program complies with local, state and federal agency requirements and shall complete all required reports and operate the program in a businesslike manner. They shall:
1. Be aware of and comply with US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Department of Public Instruction (DPI) mandates.
2. Be responsible for the cleanliness and proper storage of equipment in the school kitchen.
3. Be responsible for keeping the necessary records.
4. Be responsible for the direction of kitchen employees.
5. Be responsible for the proper storage of food.
6. Complete Servsafe Manager Certification.
7. Perform any other duties prescribed by the Food Service Director, District Administrator or Board.
Qualifications:
(1) Must have the training, experience and ability to direct or manage major portions of the total food service operation;
(2) Must have knowledge of large quantity meal preparation, menu planning and providing appropriate reports to the Food Service Director;
(3) Must have strong human relations, communication and business management skills; and,
(4) Must meet any additional qualifications set by the district.
Position will be open until filled
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
