Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction estimating heavy civil construction with a strong ability to negotiate contracts and build lasting relationships with clients and subcontractors. This role is critical in ensuring accurate project pricing and effective resource allocation, contributing to the overall success of our construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers to assess project requirements and ensure alignment on scope and budget.
- Conduct site visits to gather information on existing conditions and assess potential challenges.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare bid packages and present estimates to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in the bidding process.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the estimating team.
