Position Overview
Lifeguards at Clementon Park & Splash World are responsible for the safety and well-being of every guest at our aquatic attractions. In this seasonal role, you will maintain constant vigilance over assigned zones, respond swiftly to emergencies, and create a welcoming environment for guests of all ages. We are looking for alert, responsible individuals who take their commitment to guest safety seriously.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain constant surveillance of assigned zones and prevent injuries by identifying and eliminating hazards
- Communicate with guests in a polite and considerate manner to educate them on pool rules and safety expectations
- Know and apply whistle signals according to department standards
- Conduct safe and effective rescues in accordance with your lifeguard training
- Enforce all departmental rules and ensure guests are complying with posted attraction guidelines and safety signage
- Alert the Lifeguard Supervisor of any concerning guest behavior or safety issues
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order prior to use and that hip packs are stocked before each shift
- Maintain the knowledge and skills to complete live audits correctly
- Attend all required in-service trainings to keep lifeguard certification current
- Greet guests in a warm and welcoming manner and handle concerns professionally
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Vigilance: Maintains focused attention on assigned zones throughout the entire shift; recognizes and reacts to potential hazards quickly and decisively.
- Communication: Interacts with guests and team members in a calm, clear, and professional manner.
- Composure Under Pressure: Remains calm and executes emergency procedures effectively in high-stress situations.
- Dependability: Arrives on time for every scheduled shift; maintains certification requirements; and fulfills all assigned responsibilities.
- Guest Focus: Creates a safe and welcoming atmosphere; treats every guest with patience, respect, and professionalism.
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must pass StarGuard Elite Lifeguard training (provided)
- Must pass CPR/First Aid training (provided)
- Must have 20/20 or corrected 20/20 vision
- Must be able to swim at least 200 yards
- Must be able to tread water
- Physical endurance to respond to aquatic emergencies, including swimming to and assisting a guest in distress and performing CPR
- Must be available for shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot and/or humid conditions
