The primary responsibility of the DOT Safety Clerk is to ensure that all Bus Operators and buses are in compliance with DOT Regulations.

Be able to understand all of the requirements of DOT regulations and review compliance to regulations and inform the Safety Manager on non-compliance

Assist the Safety Manager with preparing for training with DOT Regulations and other administrative tasks

Communicate with multiple locations including locations in Mexico and the US and assist with operation of safety procedures

Ensure certifications and registrations are not expired

Ensure maintenance on Buses, Registration renewals, Annual Inspections, 90 Day inspections, Break inspections, Run reports

File Pre-trip and Post-Trip reports and run audits on the reports, work orders, Report Violation Citations and address all court orders and citation to comply with company policies and requirements, prepare reports

Assist with English questionnaire/testing, and monitoring cameras of the buses and train drivers on e-logs usage

Monthly OSHA Inspection Review

Assist with certifications, inspections, and registrations

Create Unit folders, update log books

Comply with dress code (uniform) and must wear ID Badge

Always conducts oneself in a professional, courteous and respectful manner and SMILE

Must be able to efficiently respond to any questions in a calm and friendly manner

Other tasks assigned by the Safety Manager

High School Diploma or GED
-
1 year experience or exposure in the Safety, Transportation industry or DOT Regulations

Capability to navigate within multiple computer programs including MS Office, Outlook, the internet, and systems

Basic Mechanical knowledge

Travel 10% of the time
-
Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop, and work outside

Must be Bilingual in Spanish

Must arrive on time for shift

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Able to multi-task and work under pressure during peak periods
