Duties

- Manage daily classroom activities, including circle time, small group instruction, play-based learning, and outdoor activities.
- Assess individual child development progress through observations and standardized testing; tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings and written updates.
- Apply behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and assessments.
- Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services by collaborating with specialists and implementing individualized plans.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety regulations; possess current first aid and CPR certifications.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development instruction, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education best practices, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Familiarity with special education procedures, early intervention programs, and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and collaboration with colleagues.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and developmental stages of PreK/K children.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional training is encouraged.
- Experience working in private school environments or similar settings is a plus.
