Bobtail Driver
JOB OVERVIEW
The Delivery Driver is responsible for driving a propane delivery truck and filling tanks for residential, commercial customers. The Delivery Driver may be asked to fulfill other duties, such as lighting pilot light, etc. The Delivery Driver is committed to quality performance even during extreme rain, snow or heat of a summer day. The Delivery Driver is aware that during the “heating season”, time off is restricted and only considered on an individual basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Safely operate all aspects of a propane bobtail to safely deliver propane to residential and commercial customers
- Complete deliveries on different routes daily, driving up to 150 miles radius of PPOB and working up to 14 hours a day.
- Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures
- Operates company software for propane delivery
- Perform safety checks on equipment through visual examination before dispensing fuel products
- Respond to and follow out-of-gas procedures
- Completes required on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries and responses
- Maintaining a clean driving record
· Ensure excellent customer service
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and equipment while adhering to OSHA, state and federal safety regulations
· Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT and PHMA other regulatory agencies
· On call rotation schedule as assigned (this includes nights/weekends)
- Exhibits an ability to get along with others
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance
- Outside of heating season, assist in tank and plant maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Bobtail driving that requires maneuvering in tight quarters and driving in snow, ice and other weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull 75-pound (minimum) weight requirements
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers for safety purposes
- Demonstrate an ability to follow directions verbally, written and on maps
- Must be able to pass Pre-Employment drug test and subject to continued drug and alcohol testing per DOT regulations.
LICENSE & CERTIFCATION
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
- Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- Attending Quarterly Safety Meetings to obtain required recurrent training in General Awareness, Function Specific, Safety Training, Security Awareness, and In-depth security
