PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and cooks food for meals and other functions;
- Supervises all kitchen personnel;
- Assists in the training of food service helpers;
- Applies all principles set forth in HEALTH DEPARTMENT regulations;
- Prepares and cooks special dietary meals;
- Supervises the cleaning, sanitizing and usage of equipment used in food preparation;
- Requisitions supplies when needed;
- Completes data forms required by State and Local regulators;
- Completes paperwork required by School Lunch Manager
- Performs related work as needed
NOTE: Serves breakfasts and lunches daily
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma and/or high school equivalency diploma; A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a cook or a substitute cook in a public or private institution preferred, one year of which must have involved the preparation of food in large quantities;
- Must have good knowledge of modern methods of equipment used in the preparation of food in large quantities;
- Must have the ability to prepare and cook food in large quantities;
- Must have the ability to read, write and do basic arithmetic;
- Must have the ability to supervise the work of others;
- Must possess the characteristics of cleanliness and initiative;
- Must be in a physical condition that will commensurate with the demands of the position;
- Must be available to work extra functions, i.e., banquets, luncheons, etc.;
- Must have certification in Sanitation Training.
