NSC Newport Specialty Cars is seeking a part-time or piecework Upholstery Technician to support our custom automotive projects. In this role, you'll assist with general upholstery work, including automotive interior trimming and installing upholstery components such as headliners and convertible tops.
Responsibilities include:
- Upholstering, fitting, and installing vehicle interiors and headliners
- Cutting, sewing, and assembling upholstery materials (leather, vinyl, fabric, etc.)
- Repairing or replacing upholstery components
- Using hand tools, air tools, and sewing machines for upholstery tasks
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Delivering high-quality craftsmanship with attention to detail
Requirements:
- Basic to advanced experience in general or automobile upholstery
- Familiarity with structures and materials
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Skilled with standard upholstery tools and sewing machines
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Ability to follow project instructions and work independently or with a team
- Punctual, organized, and efficient work habits
Experience (Preferred but not required):
- Previous experience in automotive upholstery or convertible top installation is a plus
