We’re hiring an Engineer/Geologist/Environmental Scientist to work with our Round Rock, Texas team. In this role, you’ll work on a variety of technical projects from simple to complex. You’ll spend time working outdoors performing field tasks, and you’ll work in the office conducting research and writing technical reports. Interested? Keep reading.
Responsibilities
As a staff level professional at Ensolum, your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, and they will typically include:
- Plan, coordinate, and perform field activities for environmental due diligence, site assessment and remediation projects, including groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and surface water sampling.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and analytical laboratories, including scheduling work, reviewing deliverables, and providing field oversight of subcontractor activities.
- Manage, analyze, interpret, and present environmental data using appropriate statistical, database, and data visualization tools
· Perform and review data entry and QA/QC for data tables, maps, reports, field documentation, and other technical work products.
- Assisting with proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports for regulatory agency submittal
- Operating and maintaining field equipment and instrumentation
- Researching federal and state rules and regulations regarding environmental permitting, compliance, and remediation
- Learning how to: manage projects within designated timeframes and budgets, apply regulatory policies to cleanup the environment, develop or apply remediation designs, interface with subcontractors and clients, and implement health and safety best practices
Qualifications
We’re always looking for people who are self-motivated, learning-oriented, and client-centric. And to be considered for this role at Ensolum, you’ll also need a few more qualification requirements:
- BS in Engineering, Geology, or related field; a Masters degree is preferred
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Geologist in Training (GIT) certification is required
- Between 2 – 5 years of experience with environmental field sampling, data collection, and reporting
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Safety awareness and understanding of safe work practices
- Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and personal vehicle
- Proficiency with data analysis, databases, and Microsoft Office suite
- Able to pass drug & alcohol screening and background check
- Requires 15% overnight travel
It would be great if you also have:
· Working knowledge of TCEQ Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) and Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank (LPST) Rules, and/or Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC), and US EPA (RCRA and/or CERCLA) Rules and Regulations is preferred.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
