Who We Are
PacMech is a commercial service company serving restaurants, grocery, retail, and light commercial facilities across the western WA. When a customer's equipment goes down, their business is on the line — and we're the team they call. We take that seriously, and we hire people who do too.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced light commercial service electrician with an active Washington 01 Journeyman license to join our Fife branch. This is reactive service work: troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing electrical issues at customer sites — often the same day they call.
You'll dispatch directly from home in a company vehicle — no reporting to a shop every morning. Because of that, you can live anywhere in the greater Seattle/Tacoma metro area; your day starts when you head to your first call, not when you fight traffic to Fife. This is steady, year-round work with no between-project layoffs. Your schedule flexes with real customer needs, and you’ll have the independence to run your calls, make sound judgment decisions in the field, and represent us well in front of customers.
What You'll Do
- Respond to service calls at light commercial sites: troubleshooting circuits, panels, lighting, controls, equipment power, and related electrical systems
- Diagnose accurately and fix it right the first time — first-time fix is how we measure success, not callbacks
- Communicate clearly with customers on site: what's wrong, what you're doing, and what happens next
- Document your work cleanly so dispatch, quoting, and billing can do their jobs without chasing you
- Flag safety issues, urgent risks, and follow-up work honestly — we'd rather hear about a problem early than late
- Support teammates when the day gets busy; we win as a branch, not as individuals
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Active WA State 01 Journeyman Electrician license (in good standing)
- Proven experience in light commercial service/troubleshooting (not just new construction)
- Strong diagnostic skills — you find root causes, not just symptoms
- Valid driver's license and clean enough record to be insurable in a company vehicle
- Comfortable with a flexible, reactive schedule driven by customer emergencies
Who succeeds here:
- You take ownership of your calls from arrival to clean documentation
- You're professional and easy for customers to deal with, even on stressful days
- You're honest about what you know and what needs a second opinion — no guessing on someone else's building
- You show up when you say you will, every time
- You'd rather fix it once than come back twice
Schedule & Location
This is a reactive service role with steady, year-round work. Most calls fall within standard weekday hours, but the schedule flexes based on customer emergencies and call volume. You dispatch from home in your company vehicle, so candidates anywhere in the greater Seattle/Tacoma metro area are encouraged to apply. If you prefer a rigid, predictable routine, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you like variety and being the person who solves the problem, it is.
Pay & Benefits
- $60.00–$65.00 per hour, depending on experience — and benefits are on top of your wage, not carved out of it
- 100% company-paid premiums for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance — for you AND your dependents
- Take-home company vehicle — dispatch from home, fully stocked and maintained
- Paid time off with a PTO cashout program — unused PTO doesn't go to waste
- Paid holidays
- Year-round work — no layoffs between projects, no chasing the next job
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- Dental insurance
- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Life insurance
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
