Manager on Duty / Key Holder
Job Summary
Riphean Hospitality, local restaurant group located in Downtown Fredericksburg, has several positions available for dependable and experienced Manager on Duty / Key Holder to support daily operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong leadership on the floor, and can be trusted with opening and closing responsibilities.
We have openings as Rebellion - FXBG, Castiglia's Italian Restaurant/Sky Bar and The Port Oysteria and Brewery.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, providing leadership and direction to staff
- Open and/or close the restaurant, including cash handling and securing the building
- Supervise front-of-house operations to ensure excellent guest service and smooth execution
- Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues in real time
- Monitor labor, service flow, and cleanliness standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and alcohol service laws
- Support and coach team members to maintain performance and accountability
- Communicate operational updates and issues to management leadership
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or hospitality supervisory experience required
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven reliability and trustworthiness (key holder responsibilities)
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-volume situations
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash controls
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Alcohol service certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
