JOB Oversees the direct design and construction of various City projects. Authorizes and monitors the work of architectural and engineering consultants and contractors engaged in the design and construction of a variety of projects ranging from façade improvements, and home construction, to more complex City structures and projects such as streetscape improvements including planning, implementing and coordinating all project development phases. Work is performed under nominal direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position develops solutions to non-routine issues, without appreciable guidance from others and exercises significant latitude in determining best approaches to critical assignments.

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field; supplemented by five or more years' experience in architecture, professional engineering and/or construction management work including experience in project management; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Professional Project Manager (PMP) certification is preferred. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
