EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports the delivery of nursing care and treatment for individuals at SCI Camp Hill. It involves direct care, medication administration, and teamwork to ensure the well-being of the inmate population. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties:

Vital Sign Checks: Check and record vital signs to support accurate assessment of inmate health

Medication Tasks: Prepare and administer medications under proper supervision and document treatments

Direct Care Support: Assist inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to maintain their basic physical needs

Emergency Response: Provide first aid, CPR, or AED support during urgent medical situations

Record Management: Review, update, and maintain electronic health records and required reports

Infection Control: Follow established procedures to keep treatment areas clean and safe

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week.

The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) 8 or 10 hour work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

1st shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
2nd shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
3rd shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Work hours TO BE DETERMINED.

Rotating days off, weekends, and holidays.

These positions are eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,558.00 (before taxes).
