Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks and trailers, to reach job sites across various outdoor locations.
- Prepare and calibrate spray equipment, including hand tools and power tools, for efficient chemical application.
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and other chemical agents following pesticide management guidelines and safety protocols.
- Conduct site assessments to identify pest issues using entomology knowledge and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Follow all confined space entry safety procedures when working in restricted or hazardous areas.
- Maintain detailed records of chemical applications, including pesticide application logs and safety documentation.
- Communicate clearly with customers to explain treatment processes and answer questions about pest control methods.
- Adhere to respiratory protection requirements and other personal protective equipment (PPE) standards during chemical handling.
- Implement integrated pest management techniques to provide environmentally responsible solutions that minimize chemical use.
Qualifications
- Hold valid turf/landscape pesticide license in Wisconsin.
- Previous outdoor work experience in turf and landscape is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity using hand tools and power tools for equipment maintenance or site preparation.
- Strong understanding of pesticide application knowledge, pest control methods, and chemical agent handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about pest control solutions.
- Emphasis on sustainability, water conservation and native species.
- Ability to operate company vehicles safely while following all safety protocol adherence policies.
- Basic sales skills are a plus for promoting additional services or product recommendations.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift heavy equipment or chemicals, and perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
