Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures.
- Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, root canals, implant placement, and more.
- Take dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology while following proper safety procedures.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems called Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Collect medical histories.
- Maintain strict infection prevention management by adhering to dental sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support administrative tasks including greeting patients and assisting at front desk when needed.
- Ensure dental instruments are properly processed and stored according to infection control standards.
- Assist with complex procedures involving oral surgery or prosthodontics by practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
- Assist in inventory.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental assisting skills including chairside assisting, dental terminology, X-ray techniques, and dental instrument processing.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix; experience with medical documentation and records management is preferred.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control policies.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures and medical terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely using dental x-ray equipment; certification in dental radiography is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental teamand provide outstanding patient care.
- Attention to detail in maintaining clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical records.
- Flexibility to support diverse dental specialties such as endodontics or prosthodontics when needed.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
