This Highway Foreman 1 supervises maintenance activities to ensure roads and bridges are durable and safe for public travel.

Four years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of roads, bridges, levees, drainage facilities, wharfs, buildings, or grounds; OR
Four years of experience in the operation or maintenance of industrial or heavy mobile equipment.
NOTE:
Experience in any combination of the qualifying fields will be accepted.
Job Duties:

Supervises the Mobile Equipment Operators performing maintenance to the highways and bridges.

Prepares daily labor and equipment report. Orders materials daily.

Guides and instructs assigned personnel to see that Highway Standards are met.

Conducts routine administration meetings and training.

Works emergencies at night.

May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled by probation, promotion or detail to special duty.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Work hours may vary
Compensation: $24.10
