Join in helping our clients manage environmental and safety challenges with practical solutions. Specific responsibilities and duties include:
Environmental Regulatory Compliance:
- Environmental Audits
- Air Permit Compliance
- Hazardous and Universal Waste Compliance
- Storm Water Compliance
- Wastewater Discharge Compliance
- Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC)
- EPCRA Compliance (Tier II, Form R, etc.)
- Environmental reporting
Safety Regulatory Compliance:
- Safety compliance audits
- OSHA compliance including, but not limited to, Emergency Action Plans, Confined Space, Forklift Training, Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, PPE, Fire Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, etc.
- NFPA, ANSI, or other agency standards
- Injury reporting and investigations
Emergency Spill Response:
- Work as part of the REI emergency spill response team. Respond to spills and conduct remediation follow up and reporting.
Welcome Additional Areas of Expertise:
- DOT Hazmat and Compliance
- Food Safety and Quality
- ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
- Other unique skillsets which match client needs
Other Requirements:
- Evaluate, analyze and interpret technical data relative to project-specific goals, create and interpret accurate data display graphs and figures, and identify data gaps and data needs
- Write reports and letters, develop plans, and implement steps to move projects forward in the most cost-effective manner
- Work effectively with staff to ensure all resources are in place for proper project execution
- Effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and regulatory agents regarding schedules and compliance issues
- Utilize databases to query site information and data, as well as, to create tables and reports
- Maintain company equipment used as part of daily work
Ideal candidates will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited institution of higher education in areas such as Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Public Health, Safety, Risk Management or other related fields
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers, clients and regulators
- Effective written communication and computer skills
- Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and aptitude to learn and excel in their career
Ideal additional qualifications:
- Certifications: CSP, P.E., CHMM, CIH, other related certifications
- Master of Science or other graduate degree in related field
- 40-Hr Hazardous Waste Site Worker (HAZWOPER)
- OSHA 10 and/or 30 Hour
- MSHA Training
- OSHA Competent Person/Qualified Person training
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience conducting training and/or presentations
