Pacific States Industries Inc, a wood products manufacturer and distributor, is seeking a Human Resources Assistant. This position is based Morgan Hill, CA and, as part of the Human Resources team, will provide support for multiple locations in California and other states.
Duties Include
- Maintain up to date employee records in HRIS system and personnel folders, including review of paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Review timesheets for payroll processing and compliance with wage and hour laws. Work with supervisors and managers to correct issues.
- Assist with administering the group health insurance and 401(k) programs by collecting and processing enrollment forms and helping produce and distribute benefit materials.
- Facilitate onboarding process by preparing offer letters from templates, coordinating post-offer exams, and preparing new hire packets.
- Support safety program by producing and maintaining employee training records and helping managers source training materials and resources.
- Reconcile monthly insurance invoices, flexible spending account balances, and 401(k) payroll contributions.
- Complete employment verifications and process garnishments and NMSNs.
- Assist with conducting new hire orientations at local facility.
- Train users in HRIS system features.

Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish preferred
- Detail-oriented, demonstrates strong organizational skills
- Prior experience in human resources or payroll is preferred
Pay: $31.00 - $40.00 per hour
