Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial truck repair and maintenance, with experience in heavy truck repair and emissions diagnostics. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure the optimal performance of our customer's fleet. CDL not required but definitely a positive attribute. This individual will be doing Service calls off premises at customer locations and roadside repairs. This is also an on-call position with some nights and weekends based on rotating schedule. Driving record must be clean and you must be 24 years or older.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Cummins, Volvo/Mack, Paccar, Detroit and other heavy machinery.
- Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles, including tractor-trailers, tow trucks, dump trucks and some industrial equipment.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools and possibly welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, transmissions, engines and A/C systems.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist in mechanical repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing all tasks.
- Tire replacements / Brake service / PM and annual safety inspections
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in truck repair or service technician positions.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Ability to perform diagnostics using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, & welding equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated
- Willing to learn skills that you don't already have mastered.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
