We’re a custom home builder in Statesville, NC looking for an experienced, detail-driven Residential Construction Estimator to join our team. Our estimating workflow is built around BIM/CADD-based software (SoftPlan), and we need someone who can hit the ground running — or who has the on-screen takeoff background and hunger to learn quickly.

What You’ll Do
Estimating & Takeoffs
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from residential plans and options using BIM/CADD-based software (SoftPlan) on-screen takeoff tools
- Produce precise material quantities and pricing for both standard and custom home plans
- Conduct manual takeoffs as needed to verify and supplement software-generated data
- Develop detailed pricing for custom options to support the sales team’s quoting process
Cost Management & Pricing
- Help maintain accurate base house costs and standard option pricing in job cost software
- Assist in updating and managing pricing within our sales software platform
- Monitor material pricing trends and flag cost impacts to leadership
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with the production team to respond accurately and quickly to RFI’s
- Interpret blueprints, selection guides, and sales contracts with precision
- Learn the basics of our BIM/CADD drafting tools (prior drafting experience is a strong plus)
Who You Are
Required:
- 3–5 years of residential construction estimating and takeoff experience
- Strong working knowledge of BIM/CADD-based estimating software OR on-screen takeoff software (e.g., SoftPlan, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, On Center, or similar)
- Thorough understanding of residential construction materials, methods, and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, selection guides, and sales contracts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong math skills and meticulous attention to detail
Preferred
- Direct experience with SoftPlan (BIM/CADD-based estimating) — this is a major plus
- Drafting experience or background in architectural/construction drafting
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in architecture, drafting, construction management, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive, collaborative attitude and the willingness to learn new tools and processes
