Opening General Manager – Sliders BGR (New Restaurant Opening)
Job Overview
Sliders BGR is looking for an experienced, hands-on Opening General Manager to lead the launch and daily operation of our new fast-casual burger restaurant in Harlingen, Texas.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building a team from the ground up, creating a positive culture, and delivering outstanding food and customer service. You will oversee all restaurant operations, including hiring and training employees, scheduling, inventory, food quality, guest satisfaction, and financial performance.
The General Manager will work closely with the owners during the opening phase and will play a key role in establishing Sliders BGR as one of the area's favorite burger restaurants.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop restaurant employees
- Build a positive, high-performing team culture
- Manage daily restaurant operations
- Ensure outstanding customer service
- Maintain high food quality and consistency
- Schedule staff and manage labor costs
- Order food and supplies and control inventory
- Minimize waste and manage food costs
- Maintain compliance with health department and food safety standards
- Manage cash handling and daily sales reporting using the Toast POS system
- Resolve customer concerns professionally
- Monitor restaurant profitability and achieve sales and cost goals
- Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized, and operating efficiently
Qualifications
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience (fast casual or quick service preferred)
- Experience hiring, training, and leading restaurant teams
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience managing food and labor costs
- Knowledge of inventory management
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems (Toast experience is a plus)
- Food Manager Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Compensation
- $55,000–$65,000 per year
