Blast Hole Driller
Dan Lafferty Construction, Inc. is actively recruiting experienced full-time blast hole drill operators for our construction projects spanning across Idaho. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Understand the operation and daily functions of blast hole drills including daily maintenance and equipment servicing.
- Operate company vehicles safely and within company established policies.
- Assist with site layout and equipment mobilization.
- Operate equipment on various job sites in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining efficiency and safe work practices.
- Performs operator duties at job sites and locations under company direction.
- Performs general maintenance and preventive maintenance on drills.
- Maintain safe working conditions and follow Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Read/monitor ground conditions and communicate changes to managers.
- Produce daily blast pattern layout and proper drill logs for blast crew to follow.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Must present the company and themselves in a respectful, professional manner to customers and co-workers.
- Willingness and open mindedness to follow company directions and methods as required to perform drilling and reporting functions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be willing to travel and stay out of town for work as required. Generally, Monday – Friday and returning on the weekends.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Willingness to learn, take directions, and work toward production targets.
- Mechanical ability and interest.
- Must meet all State and Federal explosive laws, background checks and employee possessor authorization requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to pass criminal background check, Motor vehicle report, and pre-employment random drug screening. (NO FELONIES or DUI’s)
- Current Driver’s License, reliable transportation to work, and maintain motor vehicle insurance in accordance with State law.
- Demonstrate ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance records are required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience.

Schedule:
- 8 - 10 hour daily work shift typical
- Monday to Friday
- Saturdays as required
Experience:
- Heavy Equipment operating experience preferred but not required.
- Sandvik drill experience is helpful.
- Previous blast hole drilling experience is helpful.
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
