We are seeking motivated professionals with prior experience in manufacturing, food processing or healthcare.
Hours: Full time (on-site): Mon-Fri 8:00am - 4:00pm (Some flexibility with start time)
Pay: Pay range starts at $27/hour (higher pay with relevant experience)
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, The Facility Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of the Facility & Equipment Maintenance program within the milk bank’s food manufacturing environment.
Skills, Education, and Requirements
- Manage maintenance, calibration, and inspection schedules
- Ensure all building systems and equipment are in good working order
- Structural, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and equipment
- Troubleshoot & perform basic maintenance
- Inspect/repair cracks, drywall, minor painting, replace light fixtures
- Schedule repairs with appropriate vendors
- Monitor and inspect freezers, refrigerators, and other equipment routinely
- Repair faulty equipment or schedule repair with appropriate vendor
- Ensure exterior building and property are maintained
- Schedule snow removal, lawn care, and other maintenance
- Perform routine inspections of building exterior and schedule maintenance/repair as needed (ie. roof, brick, windows/doors)
- Perform routine inspections of parking lot, paved surfaces, and front and back yards and schedule maintenance/repair as needed
- Schedule facility inspections
- Schedule annual RPZ backflow device inspections
- Ensure fire extinguishers are charged and in good working order
- Schedule annual sprinkler system test
- Knowledge of all milk bank lab and research equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
- Oversee equipment installations and respond to facility emergencies
- Organize and maintain maintenance records
- Equipment manuals & warranties
- Maintenance service records & schedules
- Freezer logs
- Vendor contact lists, contracts, and price lists
On the job training/advancement
The Facility Coordinator receives education and training in food safety, milk banking guidelines, and basic computer skills. Opportunities for continuing education and tuition reimbursement are provided. The Facility Coordinator must take a food handler’s training course (training provided at no cost).
Physical requirements
This is a physically demanding job that requires prolonged standing, lifting, and bending. The Facility Coordinator must be able to lift heavy items (35 pounds).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate degree or equivalent technical training and work experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing, food processing, or healthcare maintenance preferred
- Computer and data entry skills
- Attention to detail and record keeping skills
- Strong commitment to food safety
- Ability to clearly communicate and have strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service to staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively to ensure safe and efficient operation of all systems.
