Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA guidelines to ensure safety and compliance
- Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutrition needs to promote healthy living
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and resident’s <PERSON> to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations like HIPAA and facility policies
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, or hospice care is a plus
- Experience with patient monitoring, medication administration, and care planning enhances your suitability for this role
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is advantageous
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant credentials are beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment is essential
- Strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with clients, families, and team members are necessary for success
