We are hiring Saw Operators to support production operations across the Cudahy facility for 2nd Shift. This role is responsible for setting up and operating sawing equipment to cut and process steel material while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Employees in this role may set up and operate saws to cut, miter, and trim steel products to length, as well as move and stage material using forklifts or overhead cranes. This position may support multiple areas of the operation based on experience and business needs.
No prior saw operating experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate saw equipment to cut, trim, or process steel material to specification
- Adjust machine controls including speed, feed rate, and blade tension to ensure optimal performance and cut quality
- Verify material type, dimensions, and job requirements prior to processing
- Position guides, stops, and fixtures to secure and direct material during cutting operations
- Move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other equipment as needed
- Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance with quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work with supervisors and team members to meet production schedule and goals
