Our Power Delivery Construction team is seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager to lead and manage quality assurance and quality control activities on large-scale transmission, substation, and utility infrastructure projects throughout the United States.
This is a traveling project-based position that requires relocation and/or extended assignments at active construction sites based on project needs. The Project Quality Manager will serve as the on-site quality leader, ensuring all construction activities comply with contract specifications, client requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality procedures.
The ideal candidate brings strong field construction experience, excellent documentation and leadership skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement and quality excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs).
- Lead all project quality assurance and quality control activities from project startup through closeout.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, company procedures, and applicable industry codes.
- Manage inspection and test plans (ITPs) and verify construction activities meet established quality requirements.
- Conduct field inspections, quality audits, surveillance activities, and process reviews.
- Review material certifications, testing results, turnover documentation, and inspection reports.
- Lead non-conformance reporting (NCR) processes, including root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Provide quality oversight during construction, commissioning, testing, and project turnover.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, field supervision, and subcontractors to ensure quality requirements are effectively executed.
- Track and report quality metrics, trends, and performance indicators to project leadership.
- Interface directly with clients, third-party inspectors, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors regarding quality-related matters.
- Mentor project personnel and subcontractors on quality expectations and best practices.
- Participate in constructability reviews, project planning meetings, risk assessments, and execution planning efforts.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Travel and relocate to project sites across North America as required by project assignments.
