Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver
- We are a trusted Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) company serving many counties in Virginia.We are currently seeking compassionate, friendly, and reliable drivers to transport clients to and from medical appointments and other engagements. Many of our clients are disabled and may require transport via wheelchair or gurney.
If you enjoy working outside of an office environment, have an excellent driving record, and are eager to help others, we want to hear from you! We offer both full-time and part-time positions.
Responsibilities:
- Transport patients to various locations in our medical transport vehicles in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations.
- Inspect vehicles before each shift (fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes, and steering) to ensure they are safe for operation. Report any mechanical defects or needed repairs.
- Report and document any accidents, vehicle damage, client incidents, or mechanical failures.
- Complete trip documentation, primarily using phone applications.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and fueled.
- Operate wheelchair and gurney lifts.
- Communicate effectively with Dispatch.
- Instruct clients on safe riding practices and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Drivers License with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 23 years old.
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to complete First Aid & CPR certification.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and empathy.
- Past NEMT driver experience is a plus, but not required we will provide training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150.00 per day
