Landscaping Crew Member
Mares Excavating & Landscape is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and motivated Landscaping Crew Memberto join our team. This position is hands-on and involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well with a team, and is willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape installation and maintenance projects
- Prepare and grade soil for landscaping projects
- Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants
- Install mulch, decorative rock, edging, and landscape materials
- Assist with patios, retaining walls, walkways, and other hardscape projects
- Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment
- Perform lawn maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and cleanup
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Follow safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment
- Work efficiently and cooperatively with other crew members
- Assist with general excavation and construction tasks as needed
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Complete projects with attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Qualifications
- Previous landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently
- Valid driver's license preferred
